Re: Need righ tAV cable layout for Hellobox 8:
This is the exact pin layout for Hellobox 8 I hope it will be useful.
Please note, in the old version of Hellobox 8 the audio output from this AV is mono, stereo trough HDMI, I think due wrong hardware design, I don't know if this has been fixed in the new version.
You can also use a cable with incorrect pins, just reverse the RCA plugs and find the right sequence, the important thing is that the 3.5mm jack is 18mm. long type.

If the 3.5 mm. jack you used is 15mm long, like the yellow one in the picture, that's not good, even if you reverse pinjack RCAs to find the right combination.
Only 3.5 mm. diameter and 18mm. long jack works.

@edzus1
All set top boxes and decoding chips are with stereo audio, the fact that through HDMI you hear stereo proves it.
Regarding the output AV being mono, I think they just got the PCB wrong and merged the tracks of the two channels.

I think that the AV 3.5mm output was added in order not only to connect to modern TVs via HDMI, but also could easily connect to old analog TVs via a small plug (3.5 mm) Due to the size of Hellobox 8Cluster.One wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 9:02 am@edzus1

Stereo sound comes from the processor, but in front of the audio amplifier, both channels are connected into one channel (mono sound)
I think that the developers just added this AV output so that it was present with Hellobox 8 and saved on a few details (this is the second channel of the sound amplifier)

Different boards for the old and new Hellobox 8whitecaspian wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 12:04 pmyou mean both hellobox 8 ,old and new boxes are same?edzus1 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 9:51 pmwhitecaspian wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 2:37 pm
Im using new version of Hellobox 8 .Im not sure about the difference. I used other cables also and reversed the RCA plugs but didnt get a sound or video .
When looking at the circuit (on the pictures (I have a new version)) it looks like the AV output part of both boards is the same circuit.
Analyzing the whole scheme old and new Hellobox 8 in the pictures it looks like the schemes are the same. But the most differences in these versions are the different processors (my assumptions are that the processor is improved in the new version.)
You can read mine and @ Cluster. One discussions about this firmware:

You say they did it by choice and it is not a mistake?edzus1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 3:11 pmI think that the AV 3.5mm output was added in order not only to connect to modern TVs via HDMI, but also could easily connect to old analog TVs via a small plug (3.5 mm) Due to the size of Hellobox 8

If they did it by choice, did they do it to save money? and how much did they save? It seems to me a very stupid thing...
It is also true that most of the old CRT TVs are monophonic, and that few people still use them now.
But if one wanted to send the sound to a stereo amplifier, for example from an online radio, m3u. he would hear it mono ...
I have news that the cpu should be the same in the old and new version of Hellobox 8 but I can't be sure.
